Reflecting on the first year, Yasmeen ElTonsy, Senior Marketing Manager at Bayut, highlighted the platform’s goals upon entering the Egyptian market. “Bayut has long been a major player in the UAE and wider Middle East. When we launched in Egypt, we wanted to introduce a more refined, tailored real estate experience for the local market,” ElTonsy said. “Our first year has been remarkable in terms of performance, and we’re just getting started.”

The data from Bayut’s first year illustrates its growing influence. By September 2024, Bayut had attracted 412,000 monthly active users—up from just 1,200 in January. Similarly, Overall online traffic surged from just under 4,000 in March to 575,000 by August 2024, demonstrating increased interest and trust in the platform.

Beyond numbers, Bayut has successfully established itself as a trusted name in Egypt’s competitive real estate landscape. The platform’s early focus on delivering quality service and a positive user experience has been reflected in its consistent app ratings, maintaining an average of 4.5 stars over the past year.

“Our first year in Egypt has been an exceptional success, both in terms of brand positioning and revenue growth,” said Guy Farhat, General Manager of Bayut Egypt. “But it’s about more than just the numbers. User Engagement: From just over 1,400 visits in January 2024, Bayut now attracts 620,000 visits as of August 2024, reflecting the platform’s growing popularity.

Lead Generation: In September 2023, Bayut generated 2,000 leads; by August 2024, that figure had grown to 56,000, underscoring the platform’s effectiveness in connecting property buyers, sellers, and investors.

Live Listings: Bayut’s property database has also seen significant expansion. In November 2023, the platform hosted 3,400 live listings, a number that surged to 26,000 by August 2024, offering users a broad range of real estate options.

These figures are not just milestones but a testament to the trust that property owners and seekers place in Bayut. The sharp rise in live listings, in particular, reflects Bayut’s effectiveness in attracting and retaining property sellers on its platform.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Bayut in Egypt

ElTonsy and Farhat are confident that Bayut’s best days in Egypt are still to come. The platform is already laying the groundwork for further expansion and refinement of its services. “We’ve accomplished a lot in our first year, but there’s so much more we’re aiming for,” ElTonsy remarked. “We’re continually looking for ways to enhance user experience and provide more opportunities for buyers, sellers, and investors.”
