Pfizer Egypt – for Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceuticals – signed a cooperation protocol with Future University in Egypt (FUE), aiming to develop the educational process at the Faculty of Pharmacy and enhance the skills of future pharmacists to prepare them to the labor market. This step comes in line with Pfizer Egypt and FUE’s strategy to support the development of the healthcare sector in line with Egypt Vision 2030.
As part of the cooperation protocol, Pfizer Egypt team will share with the students of the Faculty of Pharmacy at FUE the latest expertise in the pharmaceutical market and state-of-the-art technology in the healthcare sector. Additionally, the team will shed light on the important role of the private sector in providing the latest treatments to patients through partnering with the government and cooperating with NGOs in key initiatives that support the healthcare professionals and patients. Pfizer team will also educate the students on the skills needed for excelling at work to fill the gap between the academic life and the labor market, including marketing and communication skills, strategic planning skills and other business skills.
Dr. Ahmed El-Shazly, Country Manager for Pfizer Egypt and Sudan, said: “Pfizer Egypt’s strategy focuses on research, innovation and development to provide the best treatments based on the latest scientific breakthroughs. Our cooperation with Future University in Egypt will allow us to achieve that through further developing the educational process at the Faculty of Pharmacy and enhancing the competencies of future pharmacists, which comes in line with our strategy to develop training programs to raise the efficiency of the healthcare professionals and bridge the gap between the educational process and the requirements of the labor market”.
Commenting on the protocol, Dr. Ebada Sarhan, President of Future University in Egypt, said: “The cooperation with Pfizer Egypt is another milestone in the university’s continuous efforts to develop the educational process. The protocol will help us achieve our plan that focuses on enhancing the capabilities of our students to help them become exceptional pharmacists who could excel at work and be able to help their community”.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Eman Fathy, Executive Director of the Continuing Professional Development Center at the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA). Dr. Eman expressed the EDA’s strong belief in investing in human capabilities and the important role of partnerships between the various sectors in preparing university students and qualifying them for the labor market.
Dr. Eman added: “Among the ambitious goals of the EDA since its inception is to develop the skills of the undergraduate and fresh graduate students by offering them the necessary trainings to meet the local and global market requirements. We aim to contribute to the development of their professional path to achieve a competitive advantage for the Egyptian graduate, as well as support scientific research and innovation and improve the healthcare ecosystem, which contributes to developing the community and achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030.”
It’s worth mentioning that Pfizer Egypt invests in developing the competencies of both the healthcare professionals and its employees.
