Carrefour Celebrates the 15th Anniversary of its Partnership with the Egyptian Red Crescent

 Carrefour, owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim in Egypt, is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its partnership with the Egyptian Red Crescent. The ongoing collaboration has supported over 900,000 beneficiaries in Egypt, with Carrefour’s contributions totalling EGP 10 million.

On occasion of the anniversary, Philippe Peguilhan, Country Manager of Majid Al Futtaim Retail in Egypt, affirmed: “We are immensely grateful for the 15-year partnership we have established with the Egyptian Red Crescent. This enduring collaboration has enabled us to empower and provide essential humanitarian aid to communities in Egypt and across the region. As we renew our commitment, we will continue driving positive change within the communities we operate in.”

The partnership has accomplished notable achievements over the years. It provided crucial support to Egyptian communities during the COVID-19 global health emergency, earning Carrefour recognition from the Ministry of Social Solidarity as the most active retail brand in assisting the Egyptian Red Crescent’s activities during the pandemic.

In addition, the partnership provided humanitarian aid to victims of the 2020 Beirut disaster and contributed to relief efforts for the 2023 Syria-Turkey earthquake victims – demonstrating the leading retailer’s fast and effective role in effecting change. Other initiatives have been launched by Carrefour in direct response to the needs of the local community – from providing free medical care and food donations, to improving employability skills.

This collaboration has served thousands of vulnerable people nationally and internationally. Together, Carrefour and the Egyptian Red Crescent pledge to continue their journey in driving positive change, providing critical support and launching powerful awareness campaigns for vulnerable communities.
