The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has successfully received the ISO 22301:2019 certification in Business Continuity Management (BCM) from MSECB – a leading global provider of management systems certifications in the Middle East and North Africa, in partnership with Ofouq Integrated Solutions, MSECB key subcontractor for MEA region under the accreditation of IAS, for audit certificates in various industries and different business fields. The certification was awarded as an endorsement to the efforts accomplished by the CBE to ensure the continuity of all its critical activities during times of crises and emergencies to preserve banking stability, enhance markets’ confidence in the bank’s ability to fulfill the local and international liabilities.
The certificate reflects the robust Business Continuity Management System in place that was established and implemented in conformance to ISO 22301 standards to effectively and efficiently handle any potential business disruptions, minimize downtime, shorten recovery time, and demonstrate CBE’s organizational resilience, in order to efficiently maintain the functionality of the Central Bank of Egypt and its prominence locally and internationally.
Developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) – The ISO 22301:2019 certificate is the international standard for Business Continuity Management in organizations in accordance with the latest international best practices in this regard, that ensures the identification and management of existing and potential risks that may negatively affect the business progress during emergency incidents.
