Egyptian Adventurer Ali Abdo Embarks on «Journey to COP29» to Raise Climate Change Awareness

Egyptian adventurer and environmental activist, Ali Abdo, a multiple Guinness World Record holder, is set to embark on a new journey titled “The Journey to COP29” as part of his ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the importance of addressing climate change. The journey will begin on October 1, 2024, from Dubai and will pass through ten countries, including Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Turkey, Georgia, and finally Baku, Azerbaijan.

This journey comes in preparation for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) scheduled for November. Covering over 8,000 kilometers on an electric motorcycle, Abdo aims to spread awareness of the climate crisis and encourage young people to participate in sustainable solutions.

The journey is being undertaken in collaboration with the “Our Earth Climate Foundation for Sustainable Development” and is supported by various international and Arab organizations, including the Arab League, Egypt’s Ministries of Youth and Environment, the World Green Economy Organization, and the Egyptian Motorcycle Federation.

“The Journey to COP29” aims to achieve several key objectives, including:

– Raising awareness about the impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities.

– Empowering youth with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle environmental challenges.

– Highlighting innovative solutions for transitioning to renewable energy.

– Advocating for more ambitious climate policies on a global scale.

In addition to its environmental goals, Ali Abdo aims to break three new Guinness World Records to attract global attention to the urgent need for climate action. Commenting on his mission, Abdo stated, “The journeys to the Climate Summit are not just adventures; they are a message to the world about the necessity of collective and urgent action to confront climate change. We hope to inspire younger generations to take meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future.”
