ITIDA Promotes Language Competence, Qualifies Youth for Offshoring

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) is organizing Learn To Go Offshoring (L2GO), a program that targets developing the language and soft skills of university students, graduates, and job seekers.

L2GO is an initiative implemented within the framework of Digital Egypt Strategy for Offshoring Industry 2022-2026, aimed at attracting investors to the Egyptian market. Another objective of the strategy is to upskill the local talent pool to meet the needs of outsourcing companies and provide them with qualified personnel.

The program is part of the Human Capacity Development Programs (HCDP), which ITIDA launched in 2021. L2GO involves language training for senior-year university students and fresh graduates to hone their language skills and help bridge the gap between supply and demand for skilled people to work in the outsourcing industry.

ITIDA, through L2GO, targets training 10,000 young people in a year on English, German and French language skills as well as on soft skills, helping trainees reach the B2 level, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The program is carried out in collaboration with DFA, Speak-Up Egypt, Komet-Institut, Guide Academy and Almentor. It targets university students who have successfully completed the third year at university, fresh graduates, and job seekers not older than 30 and whose language proficiency level is at least A2.

The program lasts for a year (December 2021 to December 2022).
