Japan Ambassador Visits JTI’s Nakhla Factory

JTI Egypt hosted Japan’s Ambassador to Egypt, Hiroshi Oka, in its Nakhla Factory in Menoufia. The visit aimed at highlighting significant Japanese investments in Egypt and confirming JTI’s commitment to supporting local communities through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, particularly in collaboration with Ketharet Dawood NGO.

The factory tour provided Ambassador Oka with in-depth insights into JTI’s production lines showcasing the stringent quality standards, integral to the factory’s operations. It also emphasized the strong relationship between Japan and Egypt through strategic investments and community support.

During the visit, Ambassador Oka participated in the closing ceremony of JTI’s CSR activity with Ketharet Dawood. This project, which JTI has supported since 2021 focused on the economic empowerment of women in the Menoufia Governorate, resulting in providing more than 100 beneficiaries with comprehensive training and development programs.

Commenting on the occasion, Mariana Magdy, General Manager of JTI Egypt, said: “We are honoured to host H.E Mr. Ambassador Hiroshi Oka and demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the Egyptian market and its people.
