The company aims to increase its exports to these regions to 20% of its total production, equivalent to approximately $2 million, by the next year.
Hamdy Elabrak, Chairman of M. O. Group, which specializes in the production of sweets and chocolates, revealed that the group is aggressively working to expand its presence in the European markets, emphasizing that participation in SIAL Paris will strongly support this initiative.
He added that the company has laid out a detailed plan to increase its exports to Europe and the United States, which will play a crucial role in achieving its export objectives.
Focus on International Trade Exhibitions
Elabrak highlighted the importance of participating in international exhibitions such as SIAL in France, Anuga in Germany, and Fancy Food in the United States, which are pivotal in reaching potential customers and strengthening the company’s export network.
“Although our exports to these markets are still limited, participation in such specialized exhibitions will enable us to make significant progress in the near future,” Elabrak noted.
Expanding into European Markets
Elabrak confirmed that the company has already started expanding its operations in European markets, currently exporting products to Germany, the Netherlands, and France. The group increased its production by 30% in 2024 compared to 2023, with a plan to boost production by 100% in the upcoming year.
SIAL Paris 2024
SIAL Paris is one of the most prestigious international food industry exhibitions, held annually in the French capital. The exhibition attracts over 265,000 trade visitors, 85% of whom are from outside France, representing more than 200 countries. This year’s event will take place from October 19 to 23, 2024, at Paris Nord Villepinte, with more than 4 million professionals from the sector expected to attend.
The Importance of SIAL for the Food Industry
Elabrak explained that SIAL is a prime platform for showcasing new food innovations and products. It provides exhibitors and buyers with opportunities to exchange expertise, form business partnerships, and explore the latest trends in the food and beverage sector. The event also serves as a key meeting point for food industry importers from various regions around the world, with Africa being a significant market.
Future Plans for M. O. Group
“This is the first year that M. O. Group is participating in SIAL Paris, and we plan to continue participating in future editions of the exhibition and other international events,” Elabrak said.
The group aims to enhance its business relationships and expand its customer base in global markets through these participations, which align with its strategic plan to increase exports and strengthen its international presence.
