Author and media expert Germine Amer, a member of the Arab Media Union and Head of Corporate Communications at the United Bank, will celebrate the signing of her third book, “The Planet of Influencers”, tomorrow, Wednesday. The book, published in both Arabic and English, will be launched during the 56th Cairo International Book Fair, one of the most significant cultural events in the Arab world.
A panel discussion will be held alongside the event to explore the key themes of the book. It provides an in-depth analysis of the transformative impact of influencer media in today’s digital age, unveiling the growing power of influencers in shaping digital public opinion, influencing individual behaviors, and crafting collective identities.
“The Planet of Influencers” stands out as the first book to classify influencers based on their professional, social, and cultural specializations. It serves as a comprehensive guide for decision-makers, marketers, and media professionals on leveraging influencer media in their advertising and communication campaigns. The book also contrasts the soft power and cultural, social, and economic influence of past entertainment icons with today’s social media celebrities, highlighting how the standards of fame and influence have evolved over time.
It’s worth noting that Germine Amer released her first book in 2023, “The Influence of Social Media in the Age of the Digital Revolution”, and followed it in 2024 with “50 Metaverse Shots”, a book printed in Braille to support readers with disabilities, in collaboration with Akhbar Braille Foundation.
