SYNC proudly introduce its first-ever edition of the SYNC Awards. After more than five years in the creative market, bringing a plethora of workshops, talks, courses, competitions, and other events and services in creative education, SYNC decided to throw its first-ever awards, celebrating the input of the creatives in the industry over the past year.
Through a new and exciting model of picking the winners, a committee has been created featuring some of the industry’s more prominent names. Pioneers like Karim El Haywan (Co-Founder and Principal Designer of Design Point Studios Interiors & Architecture) ,
Eslam Hossam (Creative Director), Khaled Zaki(CEO, Good People), and Alaa El Sheikh (Podcast Host of Kefaya Ba2a/Creative Director at FP7 McCann Cairo), have joined SYNC’s committee to ensure a fair and technical choice of the winners for more than 20 trophies up for grabs in this year’s edition.
SYNC awards this year will cover three major categories with a number of awards under each. These categories are content creation, advertising, and design, with more to be added over the next editions in the coming years.
“We believe that SYNC awards will not only recognize the talents currently in the industry, but will also push creatives to break the barriers of their creative endeavors.”, said Mostafa Sharara, CEO of SYNC, when asked about the vision behind the project. He added: “We’re very excited to see the winners for this year, but we’re even more excited to see what the awards to motivate creatives in the region to innovate.” He also hammered on the fact that SYNC’s main goal is to celebrate people; the creatives themselves, which is a pivot from the usual case of celebrating the companies or agencies that put out the projects, allowing for creatives to be in the spotlight.
SYNC started in 2020 with the aim to enable everyone to be creative, gathering a community of more than 170,000 creatives from different disciplines and more than 500 professionals. It also helped hire more than 5000 creatives, as well as curated more than 350 workshops attended by more than 7500 students over the past five years.
It should be noted that SYNC Awards will be an annual event, recognizing the creatives and the projects that have been put out the year before.
