As Egyptian startups continue to harvest investments, securing the largest investment growth and funds for startups in Africa and the Middle East, various initiatives have been investing in the promotion and support of this impressive landscape.
Most recently and as part of its latest initiative to support startups and SMEs, For Impact Group (FIG) has held a workshop directed specifically to provide expertise on the most effective ways for startups to grow their business and reach their target audience as well as foundational information on pricing their products, defining their market value and competing vigilantly in this challenging market.
The workshop entitled “Marketing Your Startup: The Roadmap to Success” covered two sessions, the first focusing on Marketing Strategies for Startup Growth while the second provided expert tips on pricing models and ways to ensure financial health of company-wide operations. The last part of the workshop provided attending businesses with a chance for quick elevator pitches to introduce their business and network effectively with other participating businesses.
Kickstarting the day, Hala Wahba, FIG Founder and CEO gave an introductory note underscoring the general context, with its challenges and the increased promise of success for the startup scene in Egypt.
Summarizing the motives behind this cooperation and commenting on FIG’s most recent initiative to support startups, Hala Wahba said that “the startup sector is one of the key segments in the Egyptian ecosystem driving economic growth and spearheading opportunities for countless young minds and innovators to provide solutions for pressing social and economic challenges. It is our contribution and responsibility as private sector representatives to support these rising companies to come of age, reach and potential. This is exactly the focus and drive behind our workshop and our larger initiative to support startups and SMEs launched in December.”
Session speakers brought their consolidated and in-depth experience in regional markets to the sessions, on top of whom is Gehad El-Sobky, a seasoned Digital Transformation and IT Consultant who has worked with the largest corporations in Egypt and the region, and provided consultancy with companies as refined as LOGIC management consulting, Puvana, Smart Village Company and others, guiding their process improvement and developing solutions tailored to their growth needs.
Ramy Elsayed has provided the first session on digital marketing strategies based on his experience in successfully training more than 12,000 learners in digital marketing, SEM and SEO, with a track record of creating value and driving revenue for various commercial chains in Egypt and the region in the automotive, e-commerce and various other sectors.
As for the attending startups, their fields of operation varied between pharmaceuticals, law firms, sales and marketing companies, handcrafts, IT and cloud solutions, and education among others.
At the end of the workshop, participating startups and representatives expressed deep appreciation for the day, the initiative and the valuable knowledge shared.
The company further plans to continue this series of constructive workshops within the framework of its initiative to support startups in their marketing and growth efforts.
