Fortinet presence at Cairo ICT in Egypt focuses on emerging threats and cyber defense

Fortinet, the global leader in cybersecurity driving the convergence of networks and security, will take part in the upcoming Cairo ICT 2023 event between 19th to 22nd November. As the leading technology expo for Africa and the Middle East, the event is expected to host over 100,000 people at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in Cairo. It will bring together cybersecurity and IT professionals from various vertical sectors in Egypt to discuss the latest trends and updates in the IT industry, including Satellite Communications and Artificial Intelligence.

Khaled Fawzy, Country Manager for Egypt, Libya & Sudan, said “We are honored to be participating at Cairo ICT for the third consecutive year. This year we’ll be showcasing our solutions across Operational Technology, Security Operations, Hybrid Workforce, and Secure Networking. In recent years, we’ve witnessed cybercriminals enhance their operations and introduce more sophisticated tactics such as AI and machine learning in an effort to compromise organizations around the globe. At Cairo ICT, we will be addressing these challenges that organizations of all sizes face. We will also introduce the latest trends in the Cybersecurity industry and showcase the concepts of convergence and consolidation to provide comprehensive cybersecurity protection for all users, devices, and applications and across all network edges.”

Organizations today are divided into three: those that have been hacked and know it, those that have been hacked and do not know, and those that are about to be hacked. According to a recent report, cybersecurity is a growing priority for corporate boards, with 93% of boards of directors questioning their organization’s cyber defenses. They are concerned about a breach to the organization, damage to resources, and theft of information. One of the factors driving this is the development of the WFA (work-from-anywhere) trend and digital transformation. As soon as an employee can connect to the corporate network from wherever they are, they open an entry gate into the organization. If their devices or equipment are not protected effectively, this can lead to a breach.

The edge of the network and the transition to the cloud are also gaining momentum and influencing the cybersecurity strategies of organizations, as it’s now necessary to protect multiple environments. Add to this the OT environments that are converging with IT and all the borders are open and need protection.

During Cairo ICT, technical experts from Fortinet will share insights on these latest trends and challenges, including the tools and solutions that organizations can use to tackle the constantly evolving cyber threat landscape. This will be elaborated on in workshops delivered at the Fortinet Stand in Hall 2 across all 4 days of the conference, focusing on key areas such as Security Operations (SecOps), Operations Technology (OT), Cloud, and SASE.

Fortinet leads in various categories published in Gartner reports, such as network security appliances and SD-WAN, among others. According to the 2023 CyberRatings.Org Enterprise Firewall report, Fortinet scored 99.88% in security effectiveness. Today, Fortinet has become one of the world’s largest information security providers, with integrated solutions in enterprises across numerous sectors and industries.
