Orange Egypt has officially launched 5G services in the Egyptian market, following the successful completion of all technical and operational preparations. This milestone marks a significant advancement in digital communications and underscores the company’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge global technologies that cater to the increasing demand for speed and efficiency among Egyptian users.

The first phase of the launch will cover key high-traffic zones across all governorates, with a plan for gradual expansion nationwide. This will be implemented in collaboration with the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), ensuring the service adheres to the highest international quality standards.

Orange’s 5G technology delivers significantly faster upload and download speeds compared to 4G, alongside a substantially greater capacity to support a larger number of devices and users without compromising service quality. These advancements are pivotal in enhancing the everyday experience for users, whether at home or in workplaces that depend on reliable, high-performance internet for multitasking and seamless connectivity.

This launch aligns with the growing demand in Egypt for high-speed internet and data-rich applications. From digital learning and remote work to gaming, streaming, and real-time video communication, 5G is designed to support the evolving needs of individuals and businesses alike.

The launch comes at a time when demand for high-speed internet in Egypt is accelerating rapidly, fueled by the expansion of digital applications, online education, remote work, and content streaming. As a result, 5G has become a key enabler of modern digital lifestyles, powering everything from ultra-HD video calls and immersive online gaming to real-time social media streaming and the deployment of cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Smart Cities.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Ayman Amiri, Chief Technology and Information Officer at Orange Egypt, remarked:
“The launch of 5G services is a genuine milestone in Egypt’s digital evolution. It highlights our ongoing commitment to providing customers with the fastest and most reliable technologies available. At Orange Egypt, we believe this technology will bring meaningful improvements to people’s lives and drive growth across vital sectors that depend on advanced digital infrastructure. Our continued investment in network development underscores our dedication to providing world-class telecom services and positioning Egypt as a leading regional hub for advanced technology.”

It is worth noting that Orange Egypt was granted a 15-year license to operate 5G services in October 2024, following the signing of a preliminary agreement earlier that year. This long-term license reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting Egypt’s technological evolution and digital infrastructure development.

This launch represents a core pillar of Orange Egypt’s strategic vision to strengthen its leadership in both the local and regional telecommunications markets by delivering advanced digital solutions that meet the needs of today’s fast-changing world and contribute to building a more connected and sustainable digital future.
