Sony Middle East & Africa’s Alpha Festival in Egypt will kick off a 6 day-event targeting photographers and videographers in the country. The festival will feature a variety of Sony’s Alpha cameras combining Sony’s advanced imaging technology with extensive usability and custom-built features that are optimised for creators.
The first edition of Alpha Festival in Egypt, in partnership with Cairo Camera Rentals, will be starting off for two days in Alexandria 17th and 18th, moving to Ismailia on the 20th, and ending in Cairo on the 22nd and 23rd. The festival will feature several experience zones for photographers and videographers to shoot using Sony’s range of Alpha cameras with Sony’s ambassadors present to share their talents with the attendees. Creators will be able to capture a variety of images at the experience zones, featuring a fashion show, ballet dance and snow (winter), sports, glitter show, among other fast-paced scenarios, allowing the creators to enthusiastically experiment with the latest Sony cameras in varying indoor conditions.
Sajeer Shamsu, Head of Digital Imaging at Sony Middle East & Africa, said: “We are delighted to announce that the Alpha Festival will run in various regional markets and will feature Sony’s Alpha cameras that are specifically designed to meet the growing needs of today’s creators. The Alpha cameras combine versatility and excellent image quality with user-friendly features that are specifically designed for still imagery and video. This makes the cameras ideal for those looking to transition to more advanced photography and videography.”
The Alpha Festival is expected to attract the region’s leading photographers, videographers, vloggers and content creators’ intent on improving their photography skills. For example, the FX30 is a great fit for anyone looking to get started in filmmaking. It offers up-and-coming filmmakers’ cinematic expression with the latest imaging systems. It features a new back-illuminated 20.1 megapixels APS-C Exmor R™ CMOS sensor (Super 35 format) with a dual base ISO (800/2500) to deliver high sensitivity, low noise, and 14+ stops1 of latitude.
Meanwhile, the Alpha 7 IV, launched last year, is the ultimate hybrid camera packed with outstanding still image quality and evolved video technology with advanced autofocus, enhanced operability and workflow capability. It inherits technology taken from real-world movie production, including S-Cinetone™, and is adopted from Sony’s highly regarded Cinema Line cameras used by a broad range of filmmakers and content creators to deliver a rich, cinematic look.
