Tetra Pak, a world leading food processing and packaging solutions company, participates in the “the National Day of Sweden” organized by the Swedish Embassy in Cairo and the Swedish Business Community on the 6th of June.
This year’s celebrations have taken on a special significance as Sweden commemorates its 500th anniversary as an independent kingdom. Present as guest of honor was H.E. The Egyptian Minister of International cooperation, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat.
Wael Khoury, Managing Director, Tetra Pak Egypt Area said: “We are happy to be among the Swedish companies operating in Egypt. We have been present in Egypt for over 40 years and we look forward to working closer with the industry to provide innovative products to the Egyptian consumers.”
Khoury added, “We take pride that Tetra Pak was recently named as a European Climate Leader 2023 by the Financial Times for its accomplishments to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Tetra Pak was ranked amongst the top 20% of the 500 companies in the final list. The ranking also recognizes Tetra Pak’s efforts across the value chain, highlighting its regular inclusion amongst CDP A-listed businesses and its net-zero targets as approved by Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)”
The event witnessed the exhibition by 20 of the Swedish Companies operating in Egypt where they showcased their innovative products and services. Guests had the opportunity to engage with industry leaders, learn about Sweden’s expertise in various sectors, and explore potential collaborations. This exhibition highlights the significant contributions made by Swedish businesses to Egypt’s economic progress, fostering a stronger partnership between the two nations.
The theme of the Swedish Day 2023 is Sweden500. It focuses on historical relations between Sweden and Egypt, where history and commerce go together as Swedish companies have deep rooted existence and activity in Egypt.
