The OPPO imagine IF Photography contest in Egypt

OPPO, the leading global smart device brand, has unveiled the launch of the imagine IF Photography competition. The competition aims to encourage photography enthusiasts across Egypt to capture the beauty of historical landmarks, distinctive modern projects, and the connection between Egypt’s civilization and various crafts and arts in various fields through OPPO smart phones.

Talented Photographers and photography lovers will participate in the competition to shed light on the beauty, heritage, and culture of Egyptian civilization, as well as to promote Egyptian tourism. Photography would be carried out using OPPO’s leading smartphones that offer distinctive photography experiences through innovative imaging technology that enable high-quality imaging. The shooting will take place in several different tourist areas across the Arab Republic of Egypt to highlight the beauty and importance of these remarkable areas, including Siwa Oasis, the Sinai Peninsula, Cairo and Fayoum, Nubia and Aswan, the White and Black Deserts.

The competition provides an opportunity to delve into valuable stories that reflect various aspects of Egyptian culture that deserving to be shared with the world. Photographers can express these valuable stories through their lenses, focusing on carefully selected subthemes. These subthemes include Egyptians from different parts of the republic, customs and traditions, magnificent archaeological sites, stunning landscapes, celebrations, Egyptian folklore, popular traditions, and much more.

Raghda Amer, PR Manager at OPPO Egypt expressed her delight in launching the OPPO imagine IF Photography competition this year in collaboration with the Egyptian Tourism Activation Authority. She stated that this competition is part of their ongoing commitment to showcasing the great Egyptian civilization and also stressed that OPPO is committed to enabling users worldwide to turn imagination into photographs with mobile phones.

As for the submission requirements set by the company, photos must be taken using an OPPO smartphone and formatted in the following file types: JPG, JPEG, PNG, DNG, HEIC, and HEIF only. The submission must have a minimum resolution of 1000 pixels, and the size of each image must be larger than 1 megabyte and not exceed 20 megabytes, participants must retain the original image with complete EXIF information for the submitted photos.

Additionally, it is required not to edit the photos using image processing software such as Photoshop and Lightroom. Only moderate post-processing of the images is allowed, such as adjusting brightness, contrast, white balance, saturation, etc. Composite images that alter the original content of the photo will not be accepted.

Furthermore, the submitted works must be relevant to the specified theme and will be considered under the OPPO imagine IF Photography Awards 2024 category by default, with each submitted photo accompanied by a title and commentary.

The competition runs from April 7th to June 30th, 2024. Egyptian photographers interested in participating can submit their entries online through the following website: https://imagine-if.oppo.com/eg/activities-egypt-photography-awards-2024 and upload their photos as the primary method of participation. Additionally, participants can also share their photos on their own social media accounts with the hashtags #OPPOEgyptimagineIF and #ExperienceEgypt.

After the selection process, OPPO will choose the winners. The first-place winner will receive a prize of 10,000 EGP along with the OPPO Reno11 Series 5G smartphone known for its advanced and unique photography features. The second-place winners, totaling 3, will each receive a cash prize of 5,000 EGP along with the OPPO Reno11 F 5G smartphone, which also boasts advanced photography technologies. As for the third-place winners, totaling 6, each will receive a cash prize of 5,000 Egyptian pounds.

Worth mentioning that In 2023, the OPPO Imagine IF Photography Awards attracted over 700,000 entries from OPPO users in 51 countries and regions, aiming to provide diverse perspectives and a wide range of experiences in the competition.
